HOT AIR BALLOON ADVENT CALENDAR

Hello everyone!

Christmas is coming and as usual, I prepare the advent calendar for my children and this year I thought at these balloons that I will fill with sweets to accompany my boys until the Big Day. For this project I chose the Sweet Christmas 12x12 paper collection designed by the talented Sara Torzullo, alternating with Double Face Gray Blue and Strawberry sheets.

To make the upper part, I used the Cupcake Box die, punching 6 individual modules for each balloon and gluing them together, being careful not to glue the slot where I will insert the stick. For the basket I used the Hexagon Box die to which I eliminated the closing flaps.

To attach it to the balloon above, I used hot glue and wooden sticks (skewer type) about 9.5 cm long. I recommend first of all to attach the sticks inside the basket and then fix them in the slots between the boxes.

For the decorations I chose the Creative Bows die: I attached them above the slots where the wooden stick fits, in order to hide any lumps of hot glue. Instead, to simulate the weights that usually hang from the basket of the balloon, I used three different solutions, it's up to you to choose which one to use...

1st: I punched the charms of the Christmas Charms die;

2nd: with the Fringes die I created some tassels;

3rd: I cut out the Christmas bulbs from the patterned paper and made them shiny with the Glossy Accent.

To each basket I have attached a Sentiment Strips Xmas Wishes Black.

Finally, for the numbers I used the Giant Alphabet die: to make them stand out more on some boxes with the densest pattern, I used a Dashing Circles (3.2 cm) of white cardboard.

Now I just have to fill the 4 baskets and 24 boxes that make up the balloon with candies and chocolates! I hope the project has inspired you!
